Hello! Last month I had a hair disaster, which involved me leaving my bleach in too long. Since i did my hair in sections, my the back section is fine but the front, not so much.. My hair is heat styled and i recently cut some of the damage off so, its pretty awkward looking when its wet. I'm looking to repair my curls in any way possible, I know the heat isn't helping but as I said, my heat is hair styled and i really dont know what else to do. Any suggestions? | Black Women's Natural Hair Styles

Hey lovely lady!

I’m so sorry that happened to you. You’re right, heat isn’t going to help. My suggestion is for you to limit the amount of direct heat you put on your hair (especially the damaged area). You can do this by roller setting your hair in large rollers to achieve a stretched, straightened look without the associated damage. You can keep trimming that hair every 4-6 weeks or so to prevent split ends and further damage up the shaft of the hair. Eventually it may be wise to experiment with 100% heat free styles by using perm rods and all that good stuff, but this is when you’re comfortable with its length and look when it’s wet, of course.

Hope this helps!
